Michael states in his speech, “Everyone in this room is part of a pond, and that pond needs to always be moving…Everyone in this room can make it ripple. Doesn’t matter if it’s a big pebble, a big stone or whatever. I’m counting on everyone in this room to make the world a better place.”

Michael champions the Millstone Campus Mikvah Renovation
Michael commits to paying for half of the renovations, along with donating artwork, for the Mikvah. “…however you want to be Jewish, this is a ritual, and we should be able to have a first-class facility that we are proud of”, says Staenberg.
The St. Louis Jewish Light celebrates Michael’s public artwork installations across the Millstone Campus
The Staenberg Family Foundation, along with a personal commitment from the Michael, donates $180,000 over 5 years to create the Jewish Omaha Holocaust Education Program with Creighton University

“Michael’s philanthropy is an extension of his passion for building,” JFO CEO Alan Potash said. “And it’s infectious.” From endless new artwork to lighter, more inviting spaces and bright colors on the walls, the very feel of the entire building carries Michael’s stamp. Putting the Staenberg name on the JCC allows Omaha to honor Michael’s entire family, especially his father, who died when he was only 13.
